Delivery

All orders are despatched for next working day delivery (within mainland England, Wales and the Scottish Lowlands) from receipt of cleared funds or credit card payment authorisation. Delivery outside of these areas will take between two and three working days from receipt of cleared funds or credit card payment authorisation.

Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd will advise regarding the delivery date for out of stock items. For UK orders we deliver using a courier from Monday to Friday and require a signature for ALL deliveries; goods will not be left unsigned for. Once the items have been collected by our courier, you will be sent an e-mail confirming their despatch and estimated time of delivery.

Goods will be delivered to the address given at the time of ordering. Please note that Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd will not be liable for any losses, costs, damages, charges or expenses caused by any delay in delivering goods that are beyond our reasonable control i.e. force majeure. In the unlikely event that your goods are lost or damaged in transit, please contact us immediately.

Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd may deliver goods in instalments and invoice the buyer as if each instalment comprised a separate contract upon these terms and conditions of sale.

Risk, loss of and damage of goods passes to you on the date of first attempted delivery. If delivery of goods is delayed through any act or omission of the buyer, Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd may put goods into storage at the buyer’s risk and expense. Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd cannot accept any liability for loss or damage to products which remain in our custody and care because the customer was unavailable to receive them.

Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd can arrange additional transport insurance cover for your items. If you wish to take advantage of this service, please phone us and place your order directly with a member of our sales team who can advise you. A high priority UK mainland delivery (before 9am, before 10am or before noon on next day deliveries) is available and can be selected when placing the order and is charged as indicated. Export rates are not pre-calculated within the website. Please contact us with any specific export or delivery requirements.

Damaged Goods

All goods are carefully inspected prior to despatch. Your goods should arrive in perfect condition. However, should you receive any goods which appear to be faulty or damaged, please notify the courier on delivery and advise Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd within three working days of receipt. This also applies to any items that appear to be missing, unless stated on the invoice that the item is currently out of stock. If any items are not to be used immediately, we advise customers to check that the goods have been received in perfect condition and in working order. Harmsworth Townley & Co. Ltd will do everything possible to make sure that your delivery arrives on time and intact. We shall not accept responsibility for any additional expenses incurred due to late or incomplete services.

At present we only post online orders to UK and European* addresses

We offer 4 UK delivery options. The price of each option depends on which postage zone the delivery address lies within.

Zone 1: England, Wales and parts of Scotland, excluding Highlands and Islands. The zone is made up of all postcodes not mentioned in zones 2 and 3.
Zone 2: The Highlands and Islands of Scotland – postcodes IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE.
Zone 3: Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Isles of Scilly -postcodes BT, IM, TR21-25.

ParcelForce 24 gives guaranteed delivery to zones 1 and 3 and some of zone 2 by end of next working day. Most of remaining part of zone 2 has guaranteed delivery within 2 working days.

For low/high value orders we’d prefer people to contact us – smaller orders (such as under £50) are often lighter and can therefore be sent at lower cost through standard Royal Mail services, whilst higher value orders may need more compensation. Please feel free to contact us if you are unsure if you fall within these criteria.

*European airmail tracked and signed – 3-5 days is charged at £19.00 (For up to 1kg and £250 compensation). If you are unsure if your goods will be more valuable or heavier than the specified limits given, please contact us before placing your order.
