Diodes

A diode is an electrical component, the most common being a semiconductor, which is applied to circuits to allow the flow of current in one particular direction. It is a polarised component with two leads or connection points the cathode and the anode (also known as normal and reverse). It has a low (ideally zero) resistance to the flow of current in one direction, and high (ideally infinite) resistance in the other.

High Power Semiconductors is the electronics branch of Harmsworth, Townley & Co Ltd and we have been providing semiconductor devices worldwide, with a personal service and rapid delivery – for years. We have a wide range available – literally thousands of diodes in stock, with 70 years’ experience in the industry. This makes us the same age as Mensa – the high IQ Society (Great minds think alike)

Packages available include Stud diode, available in 10-32, ¼”, ½”, ¾”, M5,M6, M12. These can be delivered to you with or without a lead (Long or short), with a top threaded or wire connector, and sometimes flat-bottomed (no stud). In the case that they need a clamp or ring adaptor we can also provide these. Capsule and hockey puck types are also available and also square based diodes with different lead and connector options.
